A prepossessing and most ravishing French Louis XVI Victorian style Corbeille Sofa Set of one Sofa and pair of Bergère à Oreille, hand carved, French foil gilded and elegantly patinated; upholstered in precious red silk velvet, tufted back and hand embroidered in Serma embroidery; the camel back sofa is adorned with exquisite hand carvings of large basket issuing blossoming flowers connected to the acanthus scrolling garland back frame, the lower apron is fantastically embellished with ribbon tied suspending swaging blossoming garlands on an Impreciated laurel wreath carved apron; the high back eared pair of Bergère à Oreille are finely carved with unique back and matching harmonious carvings; all raised on fluted feet.
