French 18th century Régence style oxidized-ormolu-mounted walnut and fruitwood inlaid Arbalete shaped front Chest of Drawers,
The chest is raised by cabriole legs with an exaggerated 'C' scrolled shape ending with finely chiseled scrolling foliate ormolu sabots and masterfully executed large C scrolling acanthus chutes at each top, while the frieze has a scalloped shaped apron with central C scrolled shaped foliate ormolu mount,
The two large drawers above have an arbalete shape concaved at the center adorned with central cabochon ormolu mount at each drawer plus leafy ormolu handles,
The whole chest is skillfully inlaid with walnut and fruitwood veneers in very fine geometric patterns with a moulded marble top above following the contours of the chest.
